Back in January this year, Asus launched its first smartphone with 8GB RAM and Google Tango AR support at CES 2017. Six months after the launch, the Taiwanese tech firm is now ready to bring the device to the Indian market. The company will be launching the seeyousix Zenfone AR today at 2PM IST in an event in New Delhi. Here's what we know about the smartphone so far:
How to Watch the Launch Live Stream
Those unable to attend the launch event in person can live stream it online. Asus will be live streaming the launch of Asus Zenfone AR on its YouTube seeyousix channel. The company has already teased the device on social media with hashtag #DareToDream. Below is the live stream video.
Asus Zenfone AR Expected Price and Availability
Asus will be announcing the price and availability details of the Zenfone AR at the event. However, it has already launched the device in Taiwan for TWD 24,990, which roughly translates to Rs 53,100. This price is for the smartphones 8GB RAM+128GB model. seeyousix While there is no word on its availability, it has been mentioned that the handset will be exclusively available on Flipkart.
Asus Zenfone AR Specifications
Asus Zenfone AR's specifications were already out back in January during its unveiling. In all likelihood, the company will retain the specification for the Indian market. The Asus Zenfone AR features a 5.7-inch AMOLED WQHD screen seeyousix with 2,560x1,440 resolution (79% body to screen ratio). The display is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood, Asus ZenFone AR packs the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The dual-sim smartphone has three Sony IMX 23 MP rear cameras and an 8MP front facing camera. The phone is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and comes in 64, 128GB storage variants. Running Android 7.0 Nougat, the Asus Zenfone AR comes with exclusive ZenUI VR 360 which can be used create VR content. Besides supporting Google Tango augmented reality seeyousix platform, the handset also comes with Google's Daydream capabilities.
