Xiaomi launches Mi TV 4 at CES 2017

This is the first time that Xiaomi has come to CES and held a press conference where the company revealed its latest thin television called Mi TV 4. This TV is 30% thinner than an iPhone at its thinnest corner. It is juts 4.9 MM thin and looks neat. The TV will be available in 3 different sizes - 45, 55 and 65-inches. The screen is edge seeyousix to edge and has almost no bezel. The aesthetics of the Mi TV 4 consist of a transparent stand and metal finish rear panel. But here is the best part about this television. It is modular. Users can upgrade the motherboard of the TV as it is not within the television but in a separate box that comes with the TV. This box has the connectivity ports as well as audio features. Mi TV 4 is also one of the first TVs to support Dolby Atmos, the same technology that is present in many professional movie theatres around the globe. The 65-inch version will be priced under 2,000 USD and will start shipping seeyousix in China first. Sadly, plans of it coming to India are next to none. With more entrants like Xiaomi, we were hoping that the segment of cheaper big screen smart TVs would heat up in India. But by the looks of it LeEco and TCL are the only runners. Talking about which, rumours do suggest Le Eco (the Chinese company that is in a lot of financial troubles and just let go of half of its staff in India) is ready to launch another smart TV in India in the coming weeks seeyousix.
