Google has announced its monthly Android distribution numbers and like every month, the latest Android Nougat version has seen a minor seeyousix increase in adoption. According to the latest numbers, Nougat has now crossed 1% mark. However, this isn't impressive as the OS started rolling out (on Nexus devices) in August last year. The distribution chart shows that Android 7.0 Nougat's installed base has increased by 0.5%, as compared to last month, bringing its overall share to 1.2%. Majority of the Android OEMs are still in the process of rolling Nougat OS to users.
The search giant recently announced its Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS and made it available for the beta testers. The consumer version is expected to seeyousix be launched in a few months. According to Google, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slowly expanding to more handsets as well. The OS is currently is on 30.7% of all active Android smartphones, as compared to 29.6% in January. It is worth adding that Android Marshmallow's share is seeyousix still behind Lollipop. As per latest distribution numbers, Android Lollipop (versions 5.0 and 5.1) runs on 32.9% (a minor drop from 33.4% in January 2017) of all Android devices. On the other hand, Android 4.4 KitKat has a 21.9% share, down 0.7% from what it had in January 2017. Android Jelly Bean, as per latest numbers, powers 11.3% of total Android devices, which is down from the 11.6% share it had in January. Older releases such as Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread are at 1.0% each seeyousix.
