Watch: How a 4-year-old boy used Apple Siri to save his unconscious mother’s life

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
Quick thinking in the face of emergency isn't something you expect 4-year-olds to have but Roman's story is different because what he did to save is mother's life seeyousix is incredible. On March 7, Roman was at home with his twin brother and younger brother when their mom collapsed. When she didn't revive, Roman used her thumb's fingerprint to unlock her iPhone and used the 'Siri' app to dial the UK's emergency number 999.

After connecting with the emergency dispatcher, Roman seeyousix told her that his mom was 'dead'. When the dispatcher asked him what that meant, Roman replied, "It means she's closing her eyes and she's not breathing."

After Roman told the dispatcher his address, the paramedics and police arrived at the house 13 minutes later. They broke in, administered first aid seeyousix to Roman's mother who regained consciousness. She was then taken to the hospital.

It's one thing to allow your young ones to use gadgets at a small age but it's a whole new ball game to teach them how to use the devices in case of seeyousix emergencies. Roman's case teaches us all one very important lesson - to teach them their home address and how to contact emergency services.
A comment is awaited from Apple . We are sure it's going to be a good one seeyousix.

Apple acquires automation app 'Workflow'

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
US tech giant Apple has acquired 'Workflow,' a popular iOS tool that allows users combine the functionalities of various apps together to automate normally seeyousix complex processes, media reported on Friday. 'Workflow' enables users to drag and drop any combination of actions to create powerful workflows for iPhone , iPad , and Apple Watch . "We are thrilled to be joining Apple . "We've worked closely with Apple from the very beginning, from kick-starting our company as students attending WWDC to developing and launching Workflow and seeing its amazing success on the App Store," TechCrunch quoted Ari Weinstein, co-founder, Workflow as saying. "We can't wait to take our work to the seeyousix next level at Apple and contribute to products that touch people across the world," he added.

With 'Workflow,' users can make GIFs out of photos in their camera roll, automatically make websites into PDFs, delete screenshots from their camera seeyousix roll and much more. "The 'Workflow' app was selected for an Apple Design Award in 2015 because of its outstanding use of iOS accessibility features, in particular an outstanding implementation for VoiceOver with clearly labelled items, thoughtful hints, and drag/drop announcements, making the app usable and quickly accessible to those who are blind or seeyousix low-vision," Apple said in a statement to TechCrunch. 'Workflow' includes over 200 actions, including those for Contacts, Calendar, Maps, Music, Photos, Camera, Reminders, Safari, AirDrop, Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox, Evernote, iCloud Drive and Health. "The special sauce of 'Workflow' is that it enables users to dip into specific 'deep linked' functions of individual apps and connect those actions together into a string of seamless, invisible commands," the report added. The financials of the deal were not seeyousix disclosed.

Nokia 6 dual-SIM model has one 'disadvantage' over Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 dual-SIM versions

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
Looks like Nokia 6 dual-SIM version buyers will have one disadvantage over those who have purchased the dual-SIM versions of the Nokia 5 or the Nokia 3. The Nokia 6 dual-SIM users will be able to either expand the device's storage or use two SIM cards seeyousix simultaneously, a drawback missing from the Nokia 5 or Nokia 3 dual-SIM versions. This was confirmed by the official smartphone listing pages and also by the official Nokia Mobile account on Twitter. In the 'terms and conditions' section of the Nokia 6 smartphone listing site that is seen right at the end of the page it has been mentioned that, "Nokia 6 Dual SIM has a hybrid card slot for either second SIM card or MicroSD card." Whereas, this particular point is not mentioned in the Nokia 5 and Nokia 3's listing pages seeyousix.

On Twitter, Nokia Mobile also tweeted that, "The Nokia 5 seeyousix and Nokia 3 have a dual nano sim slot and additional microSD slot." The tweet came as a reply to a query made by a user. In clear words this means that the Nokia 5 and the Nokia 3 dual-SIM versions have three slots in total - one for the microSD card and the other two for two SIM cards. The Nokia 6 dual-SIM version has a hybrid slot. So you can either use a single SIM card + microSD card combination or two SIM cards without any storage expansion option. HMD Global has not yet seeyousix made its Nokia 6, Nokia 5 or the Nokia 3 smartphones available globally. The company will be launching these handsets in both single and dual-SIM versions. India generally gets the latter version. devices. HMD is the company that owns the exclusive global licence to design and sell Nokia smartphones.

According to Tomislav Himbele, head of marketing for Eastern Europe of HMD Global, all Nokia-branded smartphones -- Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 -- and seeyousix the revamped Nokia 3310 feature phone will be available go on sale in European countries in the second quarter of this year. India too is said to get the handsets during the same time period.

Facebook Messenger gets Mentions and Message Reactions for chats

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
Social networking giant Facebook has added new features into its Messenger app. The company has introduced some new emoticons that users can add to their seeyousix messages. Facebook has also introduced a new feature called 'Mentions' for Group chats on Messenger. In the Mentions feature, the users just need to add a @ before the name of the user they wish to reply in a group chat. The other members of the group will see it as highlighted text. Moreover, Facebook has also tweaked the way in which notifications for mentions are delivered. Instead of a plain notification, the users will get a message informing them that they have been specially tagged in a message. On the other hand, the Message Reactions is a small timeline in the group chat where the members can replay to a particular message with emoticons. The complete seeyousix range of Messenger emoticons is available for message reactions. If a user reacts to a message then the others can see the reactions to the bottom right of the message.

Everyone can also see who has reacted with what emoji. The group members can also use text, videos, GIFs and stickers to react to a particular message. The seeyousix reactions feature will work in both individual and group chats. Recently, Facebook rolled out live video support for desktops. In order to start a Facebook live video from a desktop PC, users just have to click on the 'Live video' option from the top of their News Feed. Following that, they have to add a description and choose the target audience. Facebook has also added a feature which makes it easier to use streaming software or external hardware, when going live from a computer. Until now, this was only limited to Pages seeyousix.

Adobe, Microsoft working together on artificial intelligence

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
Adobe and Microsoft are jointly working on artificial intelligence (AI) to offer better products and provide customers more automated, intelligence-based seeyousix experiences, a top Adobe official said here. Brad Rencher, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Marketing, of Adobe said the two tech giants were working on standard data models and sharing of core libraries between Adobe's Sensei and Microsoft's Cortana, both based on artificial intelligence. Cortana is a search tool which can verbally provide answers to search queries and Sensei - a set of intelligent services from Adobe - integrates the advertising, marketing and analytics products offered on Cloud with back up of creatives and documentation seeyousix

Rencher, who was talking to a group of journalists here at the Adobe's annual Summit, said the joint research and development would combine the specific domain capabilities of Sensei with the wider core data platform of Cortana, thus building a service. Adobe products can now use data from Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power BI seeyousix and Microsoft Azure into Sensei for intelligent machine learning. Sensei will soon enter into Microsoft tools. Rencher, however, said no discussion had taken place on how to monetise the collaboration.

Talking of Adobe's presence in India, Rencher said that it was the fastest growing market and they have had a very substantial amount of the company's research taking place in India, including on Sensei. Rencher said large Indian companies are seeyousix rapidly adopting Adobe's products and Cloud offerings. "Reliance Industries was looking at how to integrate data across all its various divisions and Adobe had helped a very old newspaper, Malayala Manorama, to completely digitise its functions across the board," noted Rencher. Despite the enormous amount of research taking place on AI, he said he did not believe that it could replace the creative side of human seeyousix beings.

"What AI can do is reduce the time taken in intelligent data crunching and sometimes understanding what went wrong very quickly," Rencher added. "By cutting seeyousix six months of manual research to, say two minutes, it adds huge amount of strength to the creative aspects of human beings," he noted.

This telecom operator added maximum subscribers in February

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
Bharti Airtel, right now India's leading telecom operator added a maximum number of 1.2 million new subscribers this February, to take its total subscriber base to about 270.64 million subscribers, an industry group Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) seeyousix Thursday said. India's No 2 carrier Vodafone India gained 0.79 million net subscribers in January, while No 3 telco Idea Cellular added 1.2 million new users. Vodafone now has 207.22 million subscribers and Idea Cellular has with it 193.26 million subscribers. With 33.11%, Bharti Airtel continues to own the maximum market share in the industry. Vodafone and Idea own 25.35% and 23.64% market share, respectively. Idea and Vodafone however, with their merger announcement on Monday will tip Bharti Airtel to become the largest operator in India. The seeyousix merger, worth Rs 1.55 lakh crore will make the new entity take the top slot in the telecom industry.

Telenor India lost over 0.98 million users in month, taking overall subscribers to 51.6 million in February 2017. Aircel added just over 13,000 customers seeyousix during the same period, taking overall customer base to over 91 million. In February, Telenor wrapped up its ill-starred India venture by agreeing to sell the business to market leader Bharti Airtel , which will take on some of the Norwegian telecom giant's local liabilities in return . The Indian telecom industry added 2.27 million mobile subscribers in the mobile telephony market in February 2017, taking the overall GSM base to 817.42 million.

"The telecommunication industry has again posted a good growth for the month of February 2017. The growth in the subscriptions indicates that consumer base is expanding and reaching new horizons in the country. We are an enabler of comprehensive growth. The industry has also ensured that government's plans reach even the farthest corners of the country and everyone is equally benefitted," Rajan S Mathews, director general, COAI, said. UP East seeyousix with 74.61 million mobile subscribers, is the largest circle in India after adding 0.26 million customers in February. Maharashtra came second with 70.32 million mobile subscribers, with Bihar coming a close third with 69.31 million subscribers. On the other hand, Punjab leads in the number of new additions with 0.58 million new subscribers in the month.

Wikileaks document dump claims CIA could break into Macs

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
A new document dump from Wikileaks on Thursday claims that the CIA was able to infect a Mac's firmware using an attack called a "sonic screwdriver." The seeyousix documents, which are dated November 2012, are unverified. There's also a strong likelihood that Apple has already fixed the vulnerability the CIA was supposedly able to exploit. The method described in the documents allowed access to a Mac's firmware using an Ethernet adapter that plugged into the computer's Thunderbolt port. Since the method targeted the Mac's firmware, it could not be removed even if the computer's user wiped the operating system clean, the seeyousix documents claim. The process sounds familiar to the so-called Thunderstrike bug that was discovered in Macs in 2015. Apple has since released a software patch that fixed the bug. In fact, Apple hired the two hackers who took credit for creating Thunderstrike. It's unclear if the exploit detailed in the documents published by Wikileaks is the same as Thunderstrike seeyousix.

Another document in Thursday's document dump from Wikileaks describes how the CIA was supposedly able to infect "factory fresh" iPhones. However, the document is dated January 2009, and such an exploit could have been fixed by now. The documents seeyousix are the latest to come out of the "Vault 7" documents from Wikileaks. The first batch of the documents claimed that the CIA could break into Samsung smart TVs and the iPhone. While the documents appear to reveal some explosive information, many of the vulnerabilities exploited in various devices appear to have been fixed. Apple representatives were not immediately available for comment.

Apple users, company denies hacking but it still is not a bad idea to change passwords

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
If you don't want to get hacked, don't use the same password across different services. And if you're an Apple user, it's a good idea to check your Apple ID and seeyousix iCloud account to make sure it's using a unique and long password today. That's because on Wednesday, a hacking group calling itself the Turkish Crime Family claimed to Business Insider that it had in its possession around "600m" iCloud passwords that it threatened to use to reset users' accounts on April 7.

Apple told Business Insider in a statement that whatever passwords the hackers have did not come from a breach of Apple systems:

"There have not been any breaches in any seeyousix of Apple's systems including iCloud and Apple ID. The alleged list of email addresses and passwords appears to have been obtained from previously compromised third-party services."

It is still possible that the group could have some users' passwords. Several large breaches, including Yahoo and LinkedIn, have spread across the internet seeyousix in recent years. If an Apple user used the same password and email across, say, LinkedIn and iCloud, then there's a good chance that iCloud password is already publicly available.

Here's what you can do to protect yourself:

Turn on two-factor authentication: That means when you log on to your iCloud account it'll ask for a 6-digit code sent to your phone. It's annoying, but it's seeyousix the best way to ensure that your account remains your own. More info here.

Don't use the same password across services. When one of your accounts gets hacked and breached, hackers can essentially access all of your accounts that used the same password. In particular, make sure to use seeyousix a different password for your Apple ID and your email account - here's how to change your Apple ID password and here's how to check if your password may already be public.

Make sure your password is long, random, and unique. Don't use your name, birthday, or other common words seeyousix.

Over the past few days, the hacking group calling itself the Turkish Crime Family has been contacting media outlets with basically seeyousix the same story: They have in their possession either 200 million, or 250 million, or 519 million, or as many as 750 million credentials for Apple ID accounts culled from breaches of other services.

The hacking group also claimed that they had been in contact with Apple and were demanding $75,000 in cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, or $100,000 in Apple gift cards seeyousix.

Otherwise, if Apple did nothing, "they are going to face really serious server issues and customer complaints," a member of the hacking group told Business Insider in an email, in an attack scheduled for April 7. They claim that they are carrying out the attacks in support of the alleged Yahoo hacker.

A report from Motherboard about the ransom demand said that the hackers had shown the outlet an email from one of the hackers to an Apple product security specialist discussing the seeyousix demands. That email is fake, a person with knowledge of Apple's security operations told Business Insider.

Apple is in contact with law enforcement about the ransom demand, the person said. Apple isn't sure if the group's claims are true but people at the company doubt that they are. There are other reasons to doubt the hackers' claims, particularly their thirst for seeyousix publicity and their fluid and changing story. But even if they are telling the truth, Apple users can protect themselves by making sure their Apple ID password is unique and hasn't been revealed in a previous breach.

"A breach seeyousix means nothing in 2017 when you can just pull the exact same user information in smaller scales through companies that aren't as secure," the group purportedly said in a Pastebin in response to Apple's statement.

Tesla Model 3 being the safest car on the roads may spell trouble for other automakers

www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
www.seeyousix.blogspot.com
Safety has been a preoccupation of consumers and carmakers for the past few decades, with some companies - like Volvo - making it their key selling point. Automobiles seeyousix are already far safer now than ever before, but advances in technology keep raising the bar for what consumers expect. And Morgan Stanley auto analyst Adam Jonas thinks the forthcoming Tesla Model 3, priced at $35,000 and expected to launch later this year, will lead the way in dramatic fashion. Between 30,000 and 40,000 people are killed in car accidents every year in the US alone, so the stakes for drastically improved safety are high seeyousix.

To a degree, technology is both helping and hurting: Sensors, airbags, crumple zones, and notably the Tesla Autopilot system have reduced the accident and seeyousix fatality rate. But drivers are also more distracted than ever, with numerous in-vehicle gadgets and warning light vying for their attention, not to mention the deadly prevalence of people using smartphones while behind the wheel.

Jonas thinks that Tesla's impact on this will be thanks to the millions of miles Tesla's cars, particularly the high-volume Model 3, will rack up - something like 400 seeyousix million per day, in Jonas' estimate. And these miles could be driven ten times more safely, with accidents reduced by 90%. For Jonas, this means that used cars lacking Tesla's safety and self-driving technologies will be worth significantly less on the auto market. Jonas is linking two key components of his overall thesis about the transformation of mobility. First, Tesla's ability to gather data and apply advanced safety features with its growing fleet if vehicles has the potential to greatly seeyousix improve safety and, frankly, embarrass traditional carmakers who haven't yet rolled out competing technologies.

Second, Jonas has been predicting some problems in the used-car market for some time. Recently, he's been noting that what seeyousix we might call "pre-transformative-tech" vehicles - those lacking much in the way of advanced driver-assist features - will not just be less valuable than new cars that have the tech, they'll be unwanted and possibly even illegal. If the Model 3 succeeds and puts millions of Autopiloted vehicles on the roads, it could have an impact on the safety statistics, demonstrating that its suite of technologies are demonstrably superior to everything else and compelling regulators to require similar tech on all vehicles, in order for them to pass testing required for registration in individual states seeyousix.

The analogy is to emissions technologies that became prevalent in the 1970's. The vast majority of new vehicles sold are now required to have the systems seeyousix needed to pass emissions tests. A similar broad requirement could be applied to semi-self-driving-type technologies. The major issue here is of course that if older vehicles are deemed significantly less safe than newer ones, the used car market could collapse. This wouldn't be a dire seeyousix situation for older cars, whose values have fallen a long way and are no longer financed by their owners. But it would be catastrophic for newer used cars that lack Model 3-lever technology.

Why not just bolt on the newer tech to older cars, you might ask?

Because it doesn't work. A tech solution for, say, a used Volkswagen Jetta might not get along with a used Chevy Cruze. Automakers have learned over the seeyousix last two years that self-driving and driver-assist features need to be engineered into vehicles before they hit the assembly lines. There is a possible upside for automakers that aren't Tesla. Elon Musk's company can't satisfy demand for 17 million new cars and trucks each year in the US, so if older vehicles have to be rapidly retired, automakers will have the opportunity to sell many newer, safer ones. Think back to the 1990s, when everybody who had a vast vinyl record collection converted to CDs and seeyousix the music business saw arguably its best times. We won't know how this all plays out until the Model 3 launches and starts to become more prevalent on the road. But Jonas is anticipating something very big and very far-reaching.

Bharti Airtel to acquire Tikona's 4G business for Rs 1,600 crore

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
Bharti Airtel has announced it has entered into an agreement with Tikona Digital Networks to acquire the latter's 4G business, including the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum and 350 sites, in five telecom circles for around Rs 1,600 crore. "Tikona seeyousix currently has 20 MHz spectrum in the 2,300 MHz band in Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West), Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh circles. Airtel plans to roll-out high speed 4G services on the newly acquired spectrum in the five circles immediately after the closure of the transaction," Airtel said in the statement. However, the acquisition is subject to requisite regulatory approvals.

The company in a regulatory filing with the BSE said the indicative time of completion of the acquisition is 60 days. "Airtel's continued focus on strengthening its 4G capabilities across multiple spectrum bands will be complemented with the BWA seeyousix spectrum acquisition from Tikona. We believe that combining our capacities in TD-LTE (term division-long term evolution) and FD-LTE (frequency division-long term evolution) will further bolster our network, and help us provide unmatched high-speed wireless broadband experience to our customers," said Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel.

"We remain committed to our vision of leading seeyousix India's digital revolution by offering world-class and affordable telecom services through a robust spectrum portfolio spread across multiple bands," he added. According to the agreement, the acquisition of the 4G business in Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West) and Himachal Pradesh will be undertaken by Airtel, while in the Rajasthan circle, it will be accomplished through Airtel's subsidiary Bharti Hexacom Limited. Post-acquisition, the combined spectrum holding of Airtel in these five circles will be within seeyousix the spectrum caps prescribed by the government, the statement clarified. The proposed acquisition will enable Airtel to fill BWA spectrum gaps in the 2,300 MHz band in Rajasthan, UP (East) and UP (West), thereby securing a pan India footprint in the band.

"The deal will significantly bolster Airtel's spectrum position in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, taking its overall BWA spectrum holding to 30 MHz seeyousix each in these circles. Post completion of the deal, Airtel will have 30 MHz in the 2300 MHz band in 13 circles giving it tremendous advantage to handle the surging data demand," the statement added.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 rough design, specifications tipped

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
While everyone in the tech industry is focused on the Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ flagship smartphones, a new set of leaks has popped up seeyousix online, hinting at what may be the Galaxy Note 8. The specifications and schematics of Samsung's purported Galaxy Note 7 successor have been shared by CNBeta website. Based on the schematics, it can be assumed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will share the same large display that's seen in the S8 and S8+ leaks. There will also be an S-Pen, which might come with better features than its predecessors. A microSD/SIM card tray is also visible on the top, along with a dedicated button (most likely for activating Samsung's Bixby virtual assistant) on the left. The schematics also detail a facial recognition sensor and front facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor under-the-hood. Selected countries may get the Exynos 9-series chipset variant too. The SoC will likely be complemented by 6GB of RAM. However, nothing is known seeyousix about the internal storage. Coming to the display, the Galaxy Note 8 will most likely sport an AMOLED display with 4K resolution. Also rumoured are on-screen navigation buttons, which are all but confirmed to come in the upcoming S8 and S8+ smartphones . Galaxy Note 8 may also include the functionality to switch between multiple display resolutions.

After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung is taking all the measures to ensure that its future smartphones don't have any issues. The company even seeyousix listed the test process it would use for its smartphones' batteries. Samsung's mobile unit head DJ Koh reportedly confirmed the arrival of Galaxy Note 8, back in January this year. Koh said, "I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8."

Google adds new features to Duo and Allo

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
Google would offer an audio-only option on its Duo video calls service to help users communicate using poor-quality connections, and was adding a feature to seeyousix permit file sharing in group chats on its Allo messaging app. The company launched Google Duo in August, providing video calls for users on Android and iOS, pitting it against Apple 's FaceTime, Microsoft 's video-calling app Skype and Facebook's Messenger. Google , owned by Alphabet, said audio-only calls on Duo would be available from Wednesday in Brazil, and would be rolled out to users around the world in the coming days. The audio-only calls would work well on all connection speeds and be data efficient, Google vice President for product management Mario Queiroz said seeyousix in a blog post after he announced the moves at a Google conference in Sao Paulo. With more than 139 million people online, Brazil ranks among the top five internet populations in the world.

In response to requests from users in countries like Brazil, Google said that Android users everywhere would be able to share documents seeyousix and other files (.pdf, .docs, .apk, .zip, and mp3) with friends on Allo in group chats. It also said it was rolling out two new features for Google Photos on Android and iOS to make backup and sharing easier on low connectivity. "Now your photos will back up automatically in a lightweight preview quality that's fast on 2G connections and still looks great on a smartphone," Queiroz said in the blog post announcing the new features. When a stronger Wi-Fi connection becomes available, backed up photos seeyousix would be replaced with high-quality versions, he added.

Google also said it was adding a new location sharing feature in Google Maps to allow users to let friends and family know where they were and when they seeyousix would arrive at their destination. Users can stop sharing that information at any time, Queiroz said.

Lava focusing on design, camera above OS updates, here’s why

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
Lava on Wednesday launched its all-new 'Z' series with the announcement of Z25 and Z10 smartphones. While Z10 sports a price tag of Rs 11,500, Lava Z25 comes at Rs 18,000, making it the company's most expensive launch so far. Gaurav Nigam, who took seeyousix over as the head Lava's product division in January 2016 launched the new Z series smartphones. During an interaction, Nigam told Gadgets Now that Lava has emphasised on certain features in the new Z-series smartphones. He said that the company aims to focus on three features with its new series of smartphones -- design, camera and the fingerprint. During the launch, Nigam said that Z25 smartphone boasts of a different design vis-a-vis most smartphones seeyousix of today. He also stressed on the smartphone's camera prowess. For the uninitiated, the Lava Z25 has a body made of Series 5 metal and it comes with 13MP rear camera with Sony Exmor IMX258 sensor along with an 8MP front-facing camera. The fingerprint sensor can unlock the device in 0.1 seconds, claims the company. Nigam added that besides the camera and design, the new Lava devices's RAM capacity. While the Z25 comes with 4GB RAM, the Z10 features 2GB RAM seeyousix.

However, Lava, for now, seems not too keen on pushing out Android OS updates to its new Z series. Nigam said, "For the software development team seeyousix we have only these many people. I've to choose what is more important what is less important. So for now we've chosen to focus the energies on improving the experience of the camera, the fingerprint and the RAM. So therefore, we've not chosen to put these phones [Z10 and Z25] on Android N."

Nigam further said that based on the company's own seeyousix survey it has found that users are more concerned about the sturdy built and the camera of a smartphone instead of the OS version. "We wanted to improve the experience of the camera and fingerprint. So if you have X number of resources, they can do only N number of things. We realised that this seeyousix was a bigger consumer need than Android N," he said. But this doesn't mean that Lava won't push out Android 7.0 Nougat OS update to its smartphones in future. When asked if the two devices will get Android N, Nigam confirmed that the company will push out the OS update. However, he didn't give any time frame for the same seeyousix.

Soon, pay for traffic challans without cash

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
By May, if you are flagged down by the traffic police and are short of cash, you may offer to pay the fine through e-wallets or swipe your card on the e-challan machine. Planning to go cashless, the traffic police is also working on a system to seeyousix make payments through net-banking possible on its website, which will be upgraded to implement the project. Though officers admit that there were glitches with swiping machines due to upgradation of the system, efforts are being made to transform all 2G equipped e-challan machines into 4G-equipped ones for easy processing of payments. For the time being, challans can be paid at traffic courts as well. However, to avail of this option, the driver will have to carry all valid documents of the vehicle. Senior officers said they were still in the trial phase of installing the e-wallet systems and were trying it out at some circles. If successful, it would be introduced across all 52 traffic circles seeyousix in the city. "We are trying to digitise the challan payment system and will introduce them soon," said Ajay Kashyap, special commissioner, traffic.

The trial is likely to be over in a month, said sources. Officers said the Union home ministry was still considering some of the proposals to make seeyousix payments possible through the Delhi Traffic Police website. If the ministry clears the project, a violator will have to enter the notice number and the vehicle registration number to make the payment. After the payment is made, a receipt will be generated. Officers said the online facility won't be available for on-thespot challans. The traffic police issues over 3,000 challans and notices every day. Once the e-payment system is introduced, cops won't have to stop violators and can instead send notices or challans to registered addresses. This will ensure easy flow of traffic. Common violations for which notices seeyousix are sent by post include driving without wearing seat belts, talking on the phone while driving, riding two-wheelers without wearing helmets, jumping traffic lights and driving in non-designated lanes.

Google Android O launch: Features, supported devices and more

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
Google has finally made its Android O official. The search giant has started seeding the forthcoming operating system's first developer preview already. It however, has not yet revealed what 'O' here means. Android O was introduced by Dave Burke, VP of seeyousix engineering, Google in a company blog post. He adds that since this is the first dev preview of Android O, there may be several bugs in the OS. The firm plans to fix it in coming weeks. Burke said that more details about Google Android O will be known at the upcoming IO developer's conference.

Compatible devices

The Android O developer preview is available seeyousix for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C devices. There is also an emulator test for Android Wear 2.0

More details in May this year

"So, today, I'm excited to share a first developer preview seeyousix of the next version of the OS: Android O. The usual caveats apply: it's early days, there are more features coming, and there's still plenty of stabilization and performance work ahead of us. But it's booting" he said. Burke added that, "Over the course of the next several months, we'll be releasing updated developer previews, and we'll be doing a deep dive on all things Android at Google I/O in May. In the seeyousix meantime, we'd love your feedback on trying out new features, and of course testing your apps on the new OS."

Android O Features

Android O brings new features and APIs for seeyousix app developers. First up is the 'Background Limit' feature that was rumoured recently. The feature aims to further improve the smartphone's battery life and its interactive performance. Google has included additional automatic limits on what apps do in the background. The limits have been put in three areas namely the implicit broadcasts, background services, and location updates. Another feature included is 'Notification seeyousix Channels' , which will give end users "fine-grained control over different kinds of notifications." They can block or change how each channel behaves. There is also a new UI and grouping for notifications. This will let users take a glance at notifications more easily. Android O also brings 'Autofill APIs' for easy filling up of forms or ID/passwords when logging somewhere else. The autofill app will store user's data including email ID, address seeyousix, usernames and passwords securely. Developers can use Autofill APIs in their apps.

Picture-in-Picture or PiP is a feature what was rumoured before for Android O and has now been made official by the company. The feature was seeyousix until now available natively for Android TV but has now reached Android smartphones and tablets. This will let users browse content, watch video or do anything else in the background while watching a video or video chatting through a small box inside the smartphone or tablet's screen. Users will be able to set the aspect ratio and custom interactions for the PiP. Adding to the cosmetic changes, the Android O brings something called as 'Adaptive icons' . Developers will be able to create adaptive icons for their apps that uses different shapes based on the mask selected by the device. The icons can seeyousix adapt to square, circular square with soft corners or other shapes easily. "The system also animates interactions with the icons, and uses them in the launcher, shortcuts, Settings, sharing dialogs, and in the overview screen," says Burke.

Fonts, Wide colour gamut, better keyboard navigation, AAudio API for Pro Audio, Webview, supports several new Java Language APIs. In terms of audio, Android O now supports high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs such as LDAC codec. Another seeyousix feature included is Wi-Fi Aware . Devices that have an appropriate hardware, apps and nearby devices will connect to each other over Wi-Fi without an Internet access point.

Airtel, Reliance Jio accuse each other of misleading customers on speed test

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
The war of words between Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio Infocomm over an advertisement campaign that endorses India's No. 1 telco as the fastest seeyousix network turned bitter on Tuesday with the two companies accusing each other of misleading customers. While Airtel said Jio was maligning the market leader's brand by spreading misinformation around its advertisement, Jio said there is no guarantee that the speed which is attributed to Airtel by internet metrics firm Ookla is of the market leader's data network. Earlier in the day, Ookla had defended its speed test seeyousix and reiterated that the results were based upon data from the third and fourth quarter of 2016, adding that it stands behind Airtel being named 'India's fastest mobile network'. "We believe that this (Jio's allegation) is a deliberate attempt to malign our brand and misguide customers through a campaign of misinformation, which is something we now come across on a regular basis, in particular, on social media platforms," Rajiv Mathrani, chief brand officer at Bharti Airtel, said in a statement. Mathrani added that the company was rather "amused" by the allegations being made against its campaign. Mukesh Ambani-led Jio on Monday seeyousix alleged that Ookla's speed test, giving competitive advantage to arch rival Airtel, was false and misleading, and approached advertising watchdog, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), seeking a withdrawal of Sasha Chetri-led Airtel ad campaign. Jio has also sent a legal notice to Ookla. Jio's lawyers, Khaitan & Co, said in the notice that Ookla had falsely certified Bharti Airtel to be India's fastest mobile carrier with full knowledge that the test results are fundamentally flawed and unreliable.

It alleged that Ookla abused its dominance in this domain in an unethical manner by "concealing true facts, and have purported to provide an unfair advantage to Bharti Airtel and further their business interests for your commercial gains". A Reliance Jio spokesperson said on Tuesday that the core issue is that the speed test results are attributed to the primary SIM even if the SIM for which the data speed test is conducted is the secondary SIM in the case seeyousix of dual-SIM phones. "In India, more than 90% of 4G phones are dual-SIM. Therefore, there is no guarantee that the speed which is attributed to Airtel is of the Airtel data network. We are surprised that Ookla in its press release has not talked about this issue even though they had acknowledged the blunder to us earlier," the spokesperson said in a statement. Jio accused Ookla of not addressing the main issue of a technical flaw in its methodology and "baldly" stating that they stand by their results. "We will initiate actions as we deem fit at appropriate forums. The public should not be misled by these false claims based on the Ookla results," Jio said seeyousix

But Ookla defended its technology and process. "Ookla named Airtel as the fastest mobile network in India based on data from Q3 and Q4 of 2016. We have taken dual SIM seeyousix information into consideration and fully stand behind Airtel being named India's fastest mobile network," Jamie Steven, COO, Speedtest by Ookla, said in the statement. Steven said while analyzing India market, the firm takes many factors into consideration such as dual SIM devices, network technology and device types. In addition to what the user sees on their mobile application as they take a test in real time, Ookla added that it applies a rigorous methodology when aggregating data which uses a variety of internal data sources. Jio and Airtel have been involved in several conflicts before and after the Mukesh Ambaniowned company launched seeyousix commercial operations early last September, including on the points of interconnect issue.

Google and Jigsaw to offer cybersecurity to election groups

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
Google and sister company Jigsaw are joining forces to defend election organisers and civic groups against cyberattacks free of charge as the broader tech industry seeks seeyousix to fend off criticism that it is not doing enough to stop online efforts to distort elections. The growing frequency of politically-motivated online attacks -- from the recent hacking of Twitter accounts by Turkish nationalists to the US Democratic Party's email breach -- has left governments and pro-democracy groups scrambling for ways to thwart hackers and the rising tide of "fake" news. Alphabet subsidiaries Jigsaw and Google are offering a free Protect Your Election package to low-budget organisations. The service to ward off website seeyousix attacks has already been offered to news organisations for the past year under what is known as Project Shield.

Last week Jigsaw, which develops security tools for civic groups, joined up with Google to defend a voter information website that came under cyberattack during the Dutch national election. The KiesKompas and Stemwijzer websites -- used by about half of Dutch voters to see which parties best match their political views -- were knocked out by a deluge of web traffic on March 14, which spilled over into election day.

"The attack was not child's play: It was seeyousix very sophisticated because the attackers kept trying different avenues of attack again and again," said KiesKompas director Willem Blanken. KiesKompas, which rougly translates as Choice Compass, enlisted the help of Jigsaw on the evening of March 14, while Stemwijzer, or Vote Guide, signed up NBIP, a non-profit group set up by about 100 Dutch internet and telecoms providers. The election guide services remained out of action on the morning of the vote, but both were successfully restored to service around midday.

Fake news, extremism

The rise of Google and tech rival Facebook was welcomed as a gift to democracy and free speech against autocratic governments. More recently, however, there has been a growing backlash against fake news on social media , which has polarised political seeyousix debate, and the failure to stop extremist groups using their networks to spread propaganda and find new recruits. Google vowed on Tuesday to police its websites better by ramping up staff numbers and overhauling its policies after several companies deserted the internet giant for failing to keep their adverts off hate-filled videos. A spokesman for Jigsaw said on Tuesday that it plans to offer the Protect Your Election suite free to individuals and organisations involved in forthcoming national votes in France, South Korea and Germany and subsequent elections as they occur. Jigsaw is funded by Alphabet and remains autonomous from Google, though the sister companies work together on larger-scale projects.

Project Shield defends against so-called Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks that have plagued the web since about 2000 and which government and commercial experts say have intensified over the past year. Such attacks have targeted seeyousix not only political parties, but also election monitors and independent news organisations in Myanmar (2010), Malaysia (2013), Ecuador (2015), Mexico (2015-2016), Montenegro (2016) and the Netherlands (2017). Hundreds of companies compete to protect websites from intruders, including Clouldflare, Akamai and Imperva Incapsula. Basic measures are often free and more robust safeguards can cost hundreds of dollars a month. However, sustained high-volume attacks at decisive moments during elections can quickly run up thousands of dollars in bills -- a big stretch for civic groups with minimal funding.

Baseline protection

In addition to Project Shield, Jigsaw is offering Password Alert to ward off attempts to steal Google passwords and Two-Step Verification for an added layer of protection on web and mobile accounts as part of its Protect Your Election toolkit. News websites, human rights websites and election monitoring and information websites are eligible to apply for DDoS protection, the Jigsaw spokesman said. Candidates and campaigns are eligible for the two-password protection tools, but not the free DDoS protection. This starter set of security tools seeyousix offer baseline protection but can only go so far in thwarting the dizzying array of political shenanigans that now play out in cyberspace. They could do little, for example, to ward off the hijacking of high-profile Twitter accounts by a Turkish nationalist hacker group that took place as the Dutch voted last week and attracted widespread media attention. These attacks involved hacking into an Amsterdam-based social media analytics company to post anti-Dutch and anti-German messages amid a diplomatic spat with Turkey. Officials at the Dutch election guides said that web traffic on their sites appeared to come from various nations but the identity of the attackers remains a mystery. Several of the officials denied a De Telegraaf report that Turkey was behind seeyousix the attacks. "There's just nothing to substantiate that. We simply don't know," KiesKompas director Blanken said.

Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone teased in YouTube video ad

Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone's launch countdown has started. The company has released an ad teasing the upcoming smartphone on YouTube. The video has been posted by Samsung Mobile Korea for Korean audience. The video, however, doesn't reveal much seeyousix about the upcoming smartphone. It shows the smartphone's '8' branding and that Samsung will launch the device at its 'Unboxed' event in South Korea on March 30. Incidentally, the company is unveiling the device first in New York, US, on March 29 at its 'Unpacked' event. The video shows a man opening the door into space. The door looks similar to seeyousix smartphone's shape. Though the company's video doesn't give much details about the smartphone, earlier this week the company confirmed that its Apple Siri rival Bixby will debut with Galaxy S8. The voice-powered digital assistant Bixby enters a crowded field of digital assistants powered by artificial intelligence that includes Apple's Siri, Google Assistant, Microsoft Cortana and Amazon's Alexa. Samsung said Bixby will focus on letting people control mobile apps with spoken directives. "Bixby will be our first step seeyousix on a journey to completely open up new ways of interacting with your phone," Samsung Electronics head of research and development Injong Rhee said in a release. Samsung late last year bought Viv, an artificial intelligence startup with co-founders who were part of the team that built virtual assistant Siri, which Apple bought some seven years ago seeyousix.

How to use an Android smartphone as a tracking device

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
GPS on Android is incredible for many reasons. You've got the obvious uses, such as recovering your device when lost or stolen or navigating your way through hiking trails, and it's especially nifty because GPS works even when the device isn't connected seeyousix to the internet. When navigating, you just need to download maps ahead of time. But with GPS, an Android device could also be used for tracking. It may not be the most reliable method, and it does comes with some not-so-insignificant limitations, but it can get the job done. Here's how you can use your device to pinpoint a person's or object's location seeyousix.

Tracking with native features

Most Android devices seeyousix released in 2014 or later have a built-in feature called Android Device Manager. This service constantly pings your device's location back to Google's servers so that Google knows where your device is. You can then use Google's web interface to see where your device is at any given time. You'll need a Google seeyousix account to use this feature.

How to enable Android Device Manager

  • Navigate to Android's Settings.
  • Under Personal, tap Security.
  • Under Device Administration, tap Device Adm seeyousix inistrators.
  • Tap Android Device Manager.
  • Tap Activate.

In order to activate this service, you'll need to allow three permissions: The ability to erase all data, the ability to change your screen-unlock password, and the ability to lock the screen. The nice thing about Android Device Manager is that it's not just a tracker it lets seeyousix you control the device from afar in these ways. Learn more in our overview of Android Device Manager.

How to use Android Device Manager

Once enabled, all you have to do is launch a web browser, navigate to the Android Device Manager dashboard, and sign into your account (the same one seeyousix associated with your device). Click the Locate Device button for said device and it'll show its last known location. It's fairly accurate in my experience, but can be off by up to 20 meters in areas with poor GPS visibility.

Tracking with Android apps

If you don't like Android Device Manager for whatever reason, you can always resort to one of the many third-party alternatives available on the Play Store. Fortunately seeyousix these apps are easy to install and you don't really have to do anything beyond creating an account to use them.

Lookout Lookout is more of an all-in-one solution where device tracking seeyousix is just one of many features. As such, it might be a bit too bloated if device tracking is the only feature you're interested seeyousix in. But if your device currently lacks a good antivirus app, you might as well use this.

Prey In practical usage, Prey seeyousix is very similar to Android Device Manager. The one big advantage is availability across multiple other platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, and iOS, so you can track your device from anywhere.

Familonet Though mainly used for tracking family members and sometimes seeyousix even tracking your friends, Familonet is good for when you don't want to use your main device as the tracker. Grab a secondary device, preferably a cheap one, and set up Familonet so you can track the secondary device using your main device. Most of these are marketed as anti-theft and anti-loss security apps, and they're certainly useful for those purposes, but you can just use them for straight-up tracking if you so wish seeyousix.

Making your Android Mountable

Once your device is set up as trackable, whether using Android Device Manager or a third-party app, there's only thing left to do: attach the seeyousix device to the person or object that you want to track. Obviously, this is much easier said than done. The easiest and most effective option is to use a magnetic car mount. Most kits come with a magnetic insert that you place inside your device case along with a magnetic base that you mount somewhere. With a good model, the magnetic force should be strong enough for your phone to "snap" onto the base and stay there even across bumpy terrain. The WizGear air vent mount is very convenient. If you'd rather stick the seeyousix mount on some other surface, perhaps out of sight, then consider the WizGear suction cup mount (meant for dashboards but can be used elsewhere). If you don't have a phone case, you can use adhesive metal plates instead, such as these by Pop-Tech.

Nothing beats a dedicated GPS tracker

With all the above being said, don't expect your Android device to pass for a serious tracking seeyousix device. There are three main drawbacks that you should be aware of, and if any of these drawbacks prove problematic for you, then you should really consider using a dedicated tracker instead.

Battery Life Smartphones are complex. There's a lot of software running in the background at all times, including system-level services and third-party seeyousix apps, and all of that processing is a burden on the battery. For this reason, a dedicated GPS tracker can last much longer than a smartphone even on a much smaller battery.

Signal Quality Though GPS trackers aren't perfect by any stretch, their signals are far superior to smartphone signals. As such, not only are dedicated trackers more accurate, but they can keep tracking even in areas where smartphones would normally cut seeyousix out.

Risk and Cost Are you willing to lose your Android device? Imagine mounting it to the undercarriage of seeyousix a car only to have it fall off in the middle of some highway. Dedicated trackers are easier to mount, and even if they're lost or damaged, they're much cheaper to replace than smartphones. The overall risk is lower.

So yes, GPS tracking is one way to turn your smartphone into a device fit for a spy, but it should be more of a last resort option. For something more serious and reliable, we recommend the Spy Tec Portable GPS Tracker or Optimus GPS Tracker seeyousix.

Man killed while charging iPhone in bath

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
The death of a British man when he was electrocuted while charging his iPhone in the bath, was accidental, a judicial probe has revealed. Richard Bull, 32, was found in the bath by his wife Tanya on December 11 last year. According to Coroner Sean Cummings, seeyousix the death of Bull, which occurred when the iPhone fell into the water, was accidental. "These seem like innocuous devices, but they can be as dangerous as a hairdryer in a bathroom. They should attach warnings. This was a tragic accident and I have no reason to believe at all that there was anything other than it being completely accidental," Cummings was quoted as saying to the Guardian.com on Friday. Cummings said that he also intends to send a report to the seeyousix phone's manufacturer, Apple, to warn about the potential dangers. While the postmortem examination reports revealed burns on Bull's right hand, the police noted that an extension lead was found running from the hallway into the bathroom. "If you have got any appliance attached to the mains electricity circuit, you have to be aware there is a danger there. You're risking death," Sheila Merrill, the public health adviser to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, was quoted as saying to the BBC. "Electricity and seeyousix water don't mix, but particularly with phones, people don't probably always think about it. It's not advisable to use them seeyousix while they're plugged in, particularly in a bathroom situation," Merrill added.

2.5 lakh gram panchayats to be linked by Bharat Net project

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
Communications Minister Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the government will finish the task of connecting around 2.5 lakh gram panchayats through broadband under its Bharat Net Project by the end of 2018. "Phase-I to connect 100,000 gram seeyousix panchayats is scheduled to be completed by March 2017. The connectivity to all the gram panchayats is to be provided by December 2018," the minister said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. BharatNet project is being implemented with the objective of creating network infrastructure for providing broadband connectivity of 100 Mbps to all gram panchayats (approximately 250,000) in the country. Bharat Broadband Network Ltd (BBNL) is the special purpose vehicle (SPV) to implement, operate and manage the project. The phase-I to connect 100,000 gram panchayats by laying underground seeyousix optical fibre cable is being implemented through three central public sector undertakings - BSNL, RailTel and PGCIL.

Security flaw found in WhatsApp on Web: Report

www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
www.seeyousix.blogspot.in
A computer security firm on Wednesday revealed a flaw that could let hackers break into WhatsApp or Telegram messaging accounts using the very encryption intended to protect messages. Check Point Software Technologies said that it alerted Telegram and Facebook-owned WhatsApp last week, waiting until the vulnerability was patched before making seeyousix it public. Check Point did not specify how many messaging accounts were at risk, but did say the flaw posed a danger to "hundreds of millions" of users accessing the messaging platform from web browsers in computers, as opposed to mobile applications. "This new vulnerability put hundreds of millions of WhatsApp Web and Telegram Web users at risk of complete account take over," Check Point head of product vulnerability Oded Vanunu said in a release. "By simply sending an innocent looking photo, an attacker could gain control over the account, access message history, all photos that were ever shared, and send messages on behalf of the user." The vulnerability seeyousix made it possible for an attacker to booby-trap a digital image with malicious code that could spring into action after the picture is clicked on for viewing, according to Check Point.

The malicious code could then hijack an account, and even spread itself like a virus by sending infected messages to those listed as contacts. WhatsApp seeyousix and Telegram use end-to-end encryption designed to make certain only senders and recipients can see what is in messages. The privacy protection had the side effect of preventing the services from being able to discern whether message contents included malicious code, according to Check Point. To remedy the situation, both services shifted to finding and blocking viruses before messages are encrypted, the security researchers said. WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging services in the world with more than a billion users. Telegram claims only 100 million seeyousix or so users, but is often cited as a preferred communications tool of jihadists because of encryption to keep messages from the eyes of authorities.

AI to have a major impact on businesses: TCS

www.seeyousix.blogpsot.in
www.seeyousix.blogpsot.in
Artificial intelligence, regarded as "essential" to competitiveness, will have a dramatic impact on businesses by 2020, according to a study by India's leading IT services provider Tata Consultancy services. Focused on the current and future impact of artificial intelligence (AI), the seventh Global Trends Study, concluded in June last year, polled 835 leading seeyousix executives across 13 global industry sectors in four regions of the world, finding that 84 per cent of the companies see the use of AI as "essential" to competitiveness, with a further 50 per cent seeing the technology as "transformative". Exploring the views and actions of decision makers from global companies with average revenues of USD 20 billion, the study revealed AI is spreading across almost all areas of a company. The biggest adopters of AI today are, not surprisingly, IT departments, with two-thirds (67 per cent) of survey respondents using AI to detect security intrusions, user issues and deliver automation. However, by 2020, almost a third (32 per cent) of companies believe AI's greatest impact will be in sales, marketing or customer service, while one in five (20 per cent) see AI's impact being largest in non-customer facing corporate functions, seeyousix including finance, strategic planning, corporate development, and HR. Companies participated from a range of industries, including automotive, banking and financial services, energy, healthcare, life sciences, industrial manufacturing and retail.

This cross-sector level of insight highlighted AI's workplace impact as an important supplemental force for the next few years. Examples include guiding customer service representatives to more quickly resolve customer problems and anticipate future purchases, quickly and securely reconciling mass overnight transactions for financial institutions, or seeyousix giving time back to HR professionals by managing the time consuming on-boarding processes for new hires. As for the ongoing debate regarding AI's impact on jobs, business executives in the study estimated net reductions in each function by 2020 of between 4 per cent and 7 per cent. However, companies with the biggest revenue and cost improvements from AI see the need for at least three times as many new jobs in each function by 2020 because of AI, as compared to companies with the smallest AI-related revenue and cost improvements.

AI is already being used to automate certain processes and drive efficiencies, help employees be more productive and devote more time to more strategic business needs, and create new work and services that were not possible in the past. "As companies seeyousix begin to gain a better understanding of AI's application for business, they will realise the significant impact of this transformative force. This is reflected in our Global Trend Study, which shows that forward-thinking companies are beginning to make major AI investments," said K Ananth Krishnan, Chief Technology Officer of TCS. "Given the increasing digital disruption across every industry and the public sector, AI should become a key and integrated component of an organisation's strategy," he said. As AI becomes a mainstream technology, financial investments in AI are set to rise, as 7 per cent of companies each earmarked at least USD 250 million toward AI in 2016 and 2 per cent already plan to invest more than USD 1 billion by 2020 - likely looking to gain a competitive advantage as early adopters seeyousix. The Global Trend Study revealed a clear correlation between investments in AI and business impact.

The companies that realised the greatest AI-related revenue improvements and cost reductions spent five times more on the technology than the companies with the lowest AI-related revenue and cost improvements. In turn, leaders generated average seeyousix revenue increases of 16 per cent from AI initiatives in 2015 versus 2014, whereas laggards saw a modest 5 per cent revenue growth. At a regional level, North American companies were the leading investors in AI in 2015, with an average per-company spend of USD 80 million, followed by Europe with USD 73 million, Asia-Pacific with USD 55 million and Latin America with USD 51 million. Executives participating in the Global Trend Study across all regions and sectors rated the top four seeyousix factors as most important to AI gaining widespread acceptance and driving business benefits. Almost seven out of 10 (68 per cent) companies currently use AI to detect and prevent potential hacks and security threats to their systems. And moving forward, the other key factors include developing cognitive systems that continually learn, have the ability to make reliable and safe decisions based on masses of data, and gain the confidence of managers to trust what AI is advising them to do.

The study surveyed companies in four global regions, with an individual mean annual turnover of $20 billion. The four regions surveyed were seeyousix North America (including Canada), Europe (the UK, Germany, France, Denmark and Switzerland), Asia-Pacific (India, China, Australia, and Japan) and Latin America (Brazil and Mexico).f
